Open-source device automation · v0.3.0
ChatGPT.
Meet your devices.
Connect ChatGPT to your Android phone and Windows PC through your own private MCP relay.
Let ChatGPT tap, swipe and run tasks. A local agent performs the authorized action and brings the result back to your chat.
Self-hosted connection. Existing root/Magisk required only for privileged Android modes.
Previously Codaki Mini Codex.
THE PATH FROM ASK TO ACTION
Why it exists
Let the conversation do something.
A chat can explain a task. RelayKite connects it to tools that can carry the task out on a device you own.
Illustrative requests; these are not recordings of completed tests.
Choose your starting point
Two devices. Independent workers.
Android, without a running PC
An Android APK runs embedded Python/Node directly on the phone. Root/Magisk enables privileged modes, while Termux is optional. After setup, everyday use needs no USB or desktop ADB.
You need: an Android device, internet, your own relay and a supported ChatGPT plugin; existing root/Magisk and the Portable component for autonomous on-device Codex. Termux is optional.
Android setup →Initial preparation may need a computer. Android: relaykite-runtime-0.3.0.apk; root modes also need mini-codex-magisk-0.3.0.zip.
Windows, from your conversation
A background worker performs authorized PowerShell and file tasks on the connected PC. It runs independently of the Android worker.
You need: Python 3.14+, PowerShell, internet, your own relay and explicitly configured permissions.
Windows setup →No phone required. ZIP: mini-codex-pc-0.3.0.zip.
From release to first result
Start small.
Check the result.
- Read your device guide. Check requirements and plugin availability for your account.
- Download v0.3.0 and SHA256SUMS. Verify the checksum of your chosen installer.
- Set up your private connection. Configure the relay, local worker, credentials and personal plugin.
- Try a small task. Check status, inspect a test app or list a test folder. Verify what actually happened.
Understand the architecture
Where the model runs, where actions happen, and how to test the “no PC” claim on your own device.
Before you install
Clear requirements. Checkable claims.
Is RelayKite a separate AI model?
No. RelayKite runs device agents and supports the original Codex CLI on Android. AI decisions come from saved ChatGPT conversations, not model weights hosted on your phone. RelayKite does not train model weights.
Does it work offline or on every Android phone?
It needs ChatGPT, internet and your relay. Release 0.3.0 has been tested on Redmi Turbo 3 / Android 17 / Magisk with embedded Python/Node; Termux is optional. Public bundles have host/mock test coverage; other devices require verification. It does not bypass a secure lock screen.
What does “your private relay” mean?
You deploy and configure your own authenticated HTTPS intermediary. Importing a public plugin card alone does not connect a device. Plugin availability depends on your ChatGPT account. Read the connection guide.
What happened to Codaki Mini Codex?
The project is now called RelayKite. Release 0.3.0 adds original on-device Codex; legacy archive names, module IDs, tool names and installation paths are retained for compatibility. Existing private installations are not migrated by a repository rename.
Is it free?
Source and public releases use the MIT license. ChatGPT usage and hosting may have their own costs. RelayKite is independent of OpenAI.
